Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS) is planning to grow its consultancy business, building on 30 years’ experience and involvement in more than 750 air-vehicle platforms. As a UK military and civil-approved design organisation, CAeS is uniquely positioned in delivering end-to-end expertise.
CAeS combines deep knowledge of aircraft design, aerodynamics, advanced propulsion, avionics, and complex systems integration to support clients across emerging aviation markets. “Our consultancy services formalise what CAeS has been delivering for decades: precise engineering paired with a clear path to certification,” comments Hanif Nabi, CEO at CAeS.
CAeS offers multidisciplinary capabilities spanning aircraft design, aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, and complex systems integration. The company has contributed to landmark programmes including the NASA/Boeing X‑48 Blended Wing Body demonstrator, and has supported OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers, governments, and start‑ups worldwide.
Certifications include UK CAA Part 21J, BCAR A8-21, and MAA DAOS approvals, enabling CAeS to guide programmes through requirements definition and compliance development. Engagement with international airworthiness with authorities including EASA, FAA, GACA and TCCA, means support can be provided for programmes worldwide.
The company’s growing involvement in hydrogen-electric propulsion, spanning fuel cell design, hybridisation, storage systems and distributed propulsion, reflects its commitment to practical, certifiable zero-emission solutions. CAeS unveiled its own hydrogen-native long-range drone, the ST-5 ‘Stingray’, at the Dubai Airshow this week.
