Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS) is delighted to announce that Paul Clarke, its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), has been appointed to the newly established South Midlands Business Board. This board was created by the South Midlands Authorities to champion the voice of businesses and guide regional economic strategy with a focus on sustainable growth.
With over 20 years in aerospace, defence, and space industries, Paul Clarke brings a wealth of expertise to the Business Board. His leadership roles across prestigious organisations, including GKN Aerospace, the Aerospace Technology Institute, the National Composites Centre, Cobham, and Airbus Defence and Space, as well as his academic experience as a former visiting professor at the University of Derby, uniquely position him to provide valuable insights on behalf of the aerospace sector. As Cranfield Aerospace’s CTO since 2023, Paul is at the forefront of advancing hydrogen and zero-emissions technology – a critical area for the future of aviation and sustainable growth in the South Midlands.
The Business Board will play an essential role in ensuring that the South Midlands’ economic strategy aligns with the needs of its diverse industries, from aviation and manufacturing to technology and education. Comprising 15 leaders from various sectors, the board aims to foster collaboration between public and private sectors, empowering the region to meet its economic potential.
